Science Museum Skills Fair
Showcasing the dynamic work environments within the fragrance industry and promoting awareness amongst aspiring young individuals, The Fragrance Foundation UK are committed to encouraging the very best talent to join the fragrance industry.
We concluded 2022 by bringing our expertise to the Science Museum STEM Skills Fair, celebrating the many career paths that make perfumery a leading industry.
We were joined by a diverse team of professionals who all advocated for fragrance by highlighting a wide range of careers and opportunities in perfumery to inspire young people aged 11-16.
Our stall hosted a 'meet the employer' session and representatives took part in a live Q&A session, all with the aim of encouraging students to start considering a future in the fragrance industry.
In the first three sessions of the day there were a lot of students in the gallery space with a lot of energy and excitement. Virtually every single student was positive, proactive and engaged!
‘Smell & Tell’
We hosted a ‘Smell & Tell’ activity, supported by Givaudan, that provided an accessible and engaging opportunity for students across all year groups. The activity encouraged students to consider their sense of smell by referencing their own knowledge and opening their minds to this important sense. The activity created excitement and gave a sense of accomplishment amongst the students.
Scented Bookmarks
To keep the students engaged we handed out scented bookmarks. These were very popular! Many thanks to Aromaco for their support in creating these.
Fragrance Wheel
Our final activation, the ‘Fragrance Wheel’, was a huge attraction and students were very (very!) keen to spin it. Conversations flowed and students were genuinely interested in discovering more about the careers available in the fragrance industry. Many thanks to Edge Retail.
The Skills Fair proved to be an inspiring day full of excitement and positivity. It was wonderful to see the engagement of future talent.
